Description

A wild, edge-of-your-seat, tip-of-the-tongue, dadaist-expressionist-surrealist, ist-ist-ist world… where changing homes can transform you forever. A lone traveller wants to enter a new country called TONG. And to get in, he has to learn the country’s language, but as the language is learned, our traveller has to give up parts of himself. How much of himself is he willing to lose to be accepted into TONG?

Tong: a tip of the tongue opera is a theatre production adapted from a Dadaist poem written in the 1920’s by Kurt Schwitters. This production explores the theme of the unknown, the great unknown that occupies all of our lives, on a large or small scale, whether we be children, adolescents or adults. A great unknown that can inspire both fear and curiosity. A great unknown that begs to be overcome, discovered, and learned. How can we submit ourselves to this undiscovered place without erasing who we are?
