Graduated in Theatre Studies from Université Laval (2010), then in Acting from the National Theatre School of Canada (2014), Marie-Hélène Bélanger Dumas co-founded La Fille Du Laitier in 2015 and has since been its General and Artistic Director.

Her creative work often originates from a sensitive resource: an image, an object, a sound, a memory… She seeks to build worlds that speak to the body, heart, and intuition of the viewer, without necessarily relying on analysis or words. She favors visual forms, physical theatre, object theatre, and offbeat stories that shift perspectives—with a particular attraction to absurd humor.

Within La Fille Du Laitier, she acts as creator, co-author, artistic collaborator, and performer, while steering strategic development and international touring. Under her leadership, the company’s creations — Caisse 606, Macbeth Muet, Avant de devenir un arbre — have traveled across Quebec and worldwide, presenting forms that are both accessible and bold.

Alongside her work with the company, Marie-Hélène continues her career as an actress. She portrayed Greta in Les Haut-Parleurs (2015–2018, text and direction by Sébastien David), and performed as Pinocchio in the English version of Théâtre Tout-à-Trac during a tour in China in 2019. On screen, she has appeared in Miséricorde (Fulvio Bernasconi) and Excursion nocturne (Création 1er Plan).
