Don’t miss this Romanian stop at the world’s largest Shakespeare festival!
In a frenetic and bloody adaptation of the cursed couple’s downfall, Macbeth Muet deconstructs Shakespeare’s work through visceral theatre. Inspired by silent films, flirting with grand guignol and melodrama, this wordless adaptation of Macbeth transports us with humour into a frenzied race for power. Bodies, objects and fake blood intertwine in a world devoid of morality, where human lives prove as fleeting as disposable cups.
In Macbeth Muet, Macbeth, a soldier loyal to his nation, encounters three witches on the battlefield who predict he will become king. Following this revelation, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth choose the bloody path of ambition, betrayal and power.
Driven by an intense soundtrack, the performer-puppeteers deliver a breathtaking choreography.
